The primary aspects in plant design are to create:

  • a dynamic, flexible plant that can be adjusted to requirements from the market or from the public

  • a plant that may contribute to and support marketing of the product (a high class product, cleanliness, freshness etc.)
  • a plant that ensures food safety and safe food handling techniques (also in relation to HACCP)
  • energy-efficient production
  • operator and maintenance-friendly design
  • production methods that strengthen consumers’ trust in products from the factory.
