Advanced Plant Design

The concept of Advanced Plant Design is a method of designing what we call the future-oriented factory. During the first steps of planning, at the design and definition stages, an ideal master plan is worked out describing the expected maximum development of the plant over a period of say 10-15 years.

As a reference the development in extruder plant capacity for salmon feed is shown in the diagram (pdf-file).

In the master plan a number of factors are considered, such as environmental measures, energy recovery, wastewater treatment and odour control. In addition, rules and regulations in force at the present time are taken into account and so are for instance hygienic standards and batch tracing etc. with a view to future trends.

The plant is then designed and built according to the customer's present requirements, wishes and financial capacity. But due to the provisions made in the master plan, plant development and extensions are much easier to implement when made in their preselected location.
